Our mission is to preserve & protect the wildlife & wildlife habitat of Pittman Wash, a rare Mojave Desert riparian ecosystem. Founded in 2004, Project GREEN is a non-profit incorporated in the State of Nevada & designated as a 501(c)(3) with the IRS.
Project GREEN:
"GREEN" is an acronym for
"Green Valley Ecology, Environment, and Nature."
Our April (Earth Day), September (National Public Lands Day), and October (Make a Difference Day) Saturday events are aimed at projects in the Wash, including trail and sign maintenance, litter removal, and control of invasive plants.
During the January, February, March, May, June, July, August, and November Saturday events, we offer guided walks and activities open to the public. These events include bird and plant life interpretive walks; talks on hydrology, aquatic ecology, astronomy nights, and other programs. We have also had activities such as geocaching events in the Wash.
Members of Project GREEN: Friends of Pittman Wash are invited to attend a monthly meeting to discuss and plan activities of the organization, including the Saturday community outreach events. These meetings are held on the third Tuesday of the month, at 6pm on-line. Meetings are currently being held via Google virtual meetings.
